In an exclusive interview with Hexus.net, General Manager of Tegra products Mike Rayfield shed some interesting info on the immediate future of Tegra, i.e. Tegra 3.

While Rayfield did not give a concrete date, he left plenty of clues by saying “I'm going to come pretty close to my cadence of a launch every year. It will be in production around the same time as my competitors' first dual-cores will."

Bearing in mind that Tegra 2 was launched only recently, this would mean that we’ll see Tegra 3 pretty soon. It is said that it will most likely see the light of day on the Mobile World Congress, and it would indeed make sense.

This tempo will help Nvidia put pressure on Qualcomm and TI which usually take more than a year to launch their SoCs. Rayfield refused to shed light on the number of cores or the process.
